2016 Rosé

1968 Cellars will bring to you another arresting experience. We make our Rose from 35% Nebbiolo and 65% Petite Syrah. Nebbiolo varietal is called Thinker's wine, which is subtle yet bold, simple yet complex. The fruit is translucent color, with rose and anise delicate smell but solid tannin, high acidity characters. It is well known that California best expresses the personalities of Petite Syrah, one of the biggest, most powerful and tannic wines produced in America, super dark color with black pepper, blackberries, blueberries, spice and licorice flavors. It is also a man must try Rosé.

2015 Nebbiolo

The secret ingredients to this bottleful of unique lusciousness is the rigid determination on maintaining the unparalleled quality of our naturally grown grapes throughout the wine making process with a hint of boldness, as Nebbiolo is a rarely estate-grown variety because of its delicateness. Nebbiolo is the precious variety that is used to produce the two most prestigious wines in Italy, Barolo and Barbaresco; its extreme sensitivity to terroir makes the biggest challenge for Nebbiolo to prosper outside of Italy. We are proud and eager to present to you with our interpretation of this noble variety.

The high acidity of this wine is balanced well with tannin giving it the aging potential of over 10 years in bottle. The bouquet has herbal and black pepper over tones and offers flavors of blueberries, black fruit and plums.

2018 Malbec

Abundant sunlight and sandy soil make California's southern-most appellation, Temecula Valley, one of the best growing places for Malbec. 1968 Cellar’s 17-year-old Malbec grapes are charactered by dark skin and small berries, yielding a dark, full-bodied wine with tannin high in content but unbelievably smooth in mouth, aroma from dark-colored fruits such as black cherry, plum, blackberry, and blueberry. After 18 months of aging in French Oak barrels, the wine developed a smoky hint and aroma consist of cocoa, chocolate, coffee, leather, black pepper, and clove. This wine has a complex flavor structure and great aging potential.

2018 Syrah

Abundant sunlight and sandy soil make California's southern-most appellation, Temecula Valley, one of the best growing places for Syrah. 1968 Cellars’ 17-year-old Syrah grapes have small berries, dark black skin, high tannin ratio but medium acidity, which make the resulting wine a very deep violet, with a solid full body. The taste is strong and complex. 18 months of aging in French Oak barrels softens the tannin and brings out the intensely fruity and dark chocolate flavors from our Syrah while generating other tastes of toast, smokiness, vanilla, and spices. Complex flavor such as leather will gradually evolve after several years aging in bottles.

2018 Black Pearl

Proudly presented by 1968 Cellars, our Black Pearl is a blend of half Petite Syrah and half Syrah. This wine is unequivocally the dazzling star among other varietals. The grapes perfectly soak up the entirety of Temecula Valley’s distinctive terroir. Rain rarely showers during 7 months long growing season, however, intense heat from the desert chilled by ocean breeze, resulting a huge temperature difference gradually develops the fruits a full maturity and sheer richness of black cherry aroma with a hint of black pepper flavor. Petite Syrah is famous for its dark purple color, richness and full body. The high tannin and acidity greatly complement the color and complexity of Syrah. Vanilla and mocha flavors had been instilled in this blend after 18 months aged in French oak barrels.
